‘Avengers: Endgame’: Original 6 Avengers Assemble for Entertainment Weekly Covers

For the last number of weeks, as the press has rolled on for Avengers: Endgame, we’ve been told many times by directors, producers and even the stars themselves that the film will focus on the original six Avengers. It’s the culminating film of more than a decade of storytelling, of 22 films, and this particular story will have the OG team members front-and-center as some or possibly even all of their characters arcs come to a close.

Don’t get me wrong, we’ve seen plenty of materials where the remaining (not dusted) characters are together. Last week proved that as the group began their press tour around the world, with their first stop being in Los Angeles for the global press conference that was aired around the world, only to be followed up by the cast making pit stops at Jimmy Kimmel Live! each night this week. While that is the case, much of the conversation has been revolving around the original group of characters. This could very well be the final time we see these six on screen together in a Marvel movie, and the studio is making sure everyone know that that is a real possibility.

We know how likely it is that either Iron Man, Captain America or even a combination of the two could die in Endgame, with directors Joe and Anthony Russo even teasing that only two of the original six will make it out of Endgame. It’s something we’ve all been talking about and speculating and debating for longer than just the last year, and because of that, the studio is taking the chance to bring all these people together during the press tour and celebrating the greatness that has been achieved by them and others for the last decade. It comes in many forms, but this time it’s in the form of a set of Entertainment Weekly covers. Each displaying one character in the duds from Endgame, but that’s just the beginning.

EW was also able to sit the six actors down – Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, Mark Ruffalo and Jeremy Renner – along with Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige for a twenty-plus minute conversation about everything MCU. It’s a truly fantastic conversation that touches on many things and not just Endgame. I love trailers and images and all of that nature, but it’s this type of marketing that gets me hyped. You can see the love and passion behind their words, and as Chris Evans says in the video, this universe that Marvel has created is more than likely something that will never be able to be done again. You might not want to miss it.

So, not only can you check out the new covers below, but the video is attached beneath them as well. Like I said, I highly recommend watching it if you have the time. Directed by the Russo’s and also starring Don Cheadle, Paul Rudd, Brie Larson, Karen Gillan, Danai Gurira, Bradley Cooper and Josh Brolin, Avengers: Endgame hits theaters on April 26th.
