Surprise, surprise, surprise! Marvel Studios has given us a massive gift on this beautiful Thursday morning, releasing a brand new trailer for this year’s biggest film, Avengers: Endgame. The film will pick-up the story that Avengers: Infinity War left us off with, as the remaining Avengers are picking up the pieces and continuing to fight any way they can to have any chance at undoing Thanos’ act of laying waist to half the universe.
With Captain Marvel now officially out in theaters, and kicking the box-office’s ass I might add, Marvel is now setting their sights on making sure EVERYONE knows this movie is coming, although they don’t even really have to. While they’ve promised to not show us anything we don’t want to see, which is exactly what this trailer does, this seems to the official and final trailer they’ll give us that shows us anything new. Future TV spots will more than likely feature combinations of the footage we’ve already seen, with possibly a new shot here and there. They know the kind of anticipation and excitement revolving around this film, which is why they’ve promised to only keep the footage to a minimum leading up to its release next month.
This is a fantastic trailer this is crafted and put together very, very well. The beginning of the trailer might be the best part of it all, as it calls on the universe’s past, hitting home that this film is in fact the culmination event for everything that has come before it. It also brings us home again, sharing imagery of the original Avengers and when they first entered the universe. Remember, the original team hasn’t been together since Age of Ultron, four years ago. While there will be many things we get emotional about in this film, seeing the original characters come back together will definitely be among them.
For the rest of it, going frame-by-frame, there are some new details that we can pick out here and there, but mainly it’s Brie Larson’s Captain Marvel that makes the big stamp. The addition of the Avengers’ new uniforms is as badass as you can get, especially with that specific line-up, but Carol Danvers has arrived and they used her perfectly in the trailer. While very quick, it’s that small character interaction that has us losing our mind. There’s many characters we can’t wait to see her play opposite with in this universe, such as fellow Captain Steve Rogers, but Thor is very high up on the list and this scene does a perfect job of showing us why.
Check out the brand new trailer a first, second or tenth time below! After doing so, leave all your juicy questions, comments and concerns (if you really have any) in the comment section. How did you react? What was your favorite part? Which team-up are you most excited to see? Starring Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo, Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner, Don Cheadle, Paul Rudd, Brie Larson, Karen Gillan, Bradley Cooper and Josh Brolin, Joe and Anthony Russo’s Avengers: Endgame will be released on April 26th.
