New ‘Aladdin’ Trailer Shows the Live-Action Adaptation in a Whole New World

Disney has released a brand new trailer for their upcoming live-action remake of the their classic animated feature Aladdin. It’s no secret that this film has had some major backlash behind it, but what seems like a counter to all the negative word revolving around it, the studio has debuted a full-length trailer for the adaptation, completely revealing the remake to the world. The film was directed by Guy Ritchie and stars Mena Mossound in the title role, with Naomi Scott (Power Rangers) playing Jasmine and Smith, of course, taking over the role of Genie from the late, great Robin Williams.

While the trailer wasn’t an absolute knockout, it’s easily a step in the right direction from where it was beforehand. There’s no doubt that it will continue to have the “haters” talk bad about everything going on with the project, specifically Smith’s Genie. I personally have been a bit cautious to be excited for this film because I don’t want to be letdown at a massive level. I haven’t hated or even disliked the trailers for the film, I’ve just had a mild reaction to each and every one of them, including this one. Does the Genie look better? Yes, slightly. Am I hopeful for the chemistry between Mossound and Scott? Definitely. Let’s just hope it can all come together in one enjoyable picture that shocks the hell out of more than just a few fans.

If you haven’t already, check out the brand new trailer below. After you do, more so than ever, head down to the comments and leave all your thoughts in the section below. Why? I want to know your thoughts on everything going on with this project; whether or not you’re excited, bored, sad or anything else you may be feeling towards the remake. Also starring Marwan Kenzari as Jafar, Navid Negahban, Nasim Pedrad, Billy Magnussen and Numan Acar, Ritchie’s Aladdin will be released on May 24th, 2019.
