‘The Angry Birds Movie 2’ Teaser Trailer Has Tons of Ice & Zero Chill

Sony Pictures Animation has finally unveiled the initial teaser for The Angry Birds Movie 2, the sequel to the movie based off the mobile game phenomena. The sequel will no doubt feature more antics of the (kind of) flightless birds, but this time, it’ll be a bit colder. As the first teaser reveals, the second movie will bring in an new character this time around in the form of Zeta, a big purple bird who lives in a much different climate compared to the characters of Angry Bird Island. The trailer doesn’t reveal on what size of the line Zeta sits, but one thing is for sure, she’s bringing winter with her.

I’ll be honest, I’m more interested in this movie than I thought I was. When I initially went in to watch The Angry Birds Movie, I didn’t have any kind of expectations, I just watched it to watch it. But, much to my own surprise, I liked the kind of movie it was. It was simple with some good jokes, didn’t take itself too seriously and was a perfect runtime that didn’t allow it to drag on with the same thing over and over again. That’s the biggest issue I have with the sequel without really seeing anything. Hopefully it doesn’t feel too similar to the original movie, although I have this gut feeling it will. It has a very strong voice cast and the vibrancy of it is definitely really good to look at it, but if that’s all it has going for it, it could be a letdown for those who are looking forward to it. However, it will definitely make some money and hit with the younger audience, which overall, is exactly what it’s for.

Watch the teaser trailer below and after doing so, leave some thoughts in the comment section below. Did you like the first? Do you want a sequel? How’s the teaser in your eyes? Starring the voices of Jason Sudeikis, Josh Gad, Leslie Jones, Bill Hader, Rachel Bloom, Awkwafina, Sterling K. Brown, Eugenio Derbez, Danny McBride and Peter Dinklage, The Angry Birds Movie 2 will be released on August 16th.
