There are dozens of things to be excited about when it comes to Avengers: Endgame, but one of the topics that dominates a conversation when it comes to any superhero movie is the costumes. That is once again the case today as a new pro image for Endgame has been released, which could have easily displayed every Marvel hero we’ll see featured in the movie, but rather takes a more personal approach and focuses on the OG members of Team Avengers.
Although Marvel and members of the crew have stated multiple times that marketing for the film will show a considerable less amount than previous MCU entries, it’s no surprise that we’re starting to get images like the one you can see below. Footage and images are two completely different animals, and this one definitely is. In the new promo image, we get our first real complete look at the Avengers in their final costumes for Endgame. Don’t lose your mind when I say final, as I mean the costumes they will be in for the majority of the time against the Mad Titan. And for you longtime fans and readers, as I am myself, you can notice that there are some very, very familiar looks for a few of the original six.
When I say familiar, I don’t mean suits we’ve seen in previous movies, but suits that were originally featured in some of the most classic comics in the history of these characters. That is mainly directed at the leaders, Captain America and Iron Man. After years of begging and pleading, Steve Rogers will finally be wearing his chest-ruffled suit into combat this April, and he will be joined by Tony Stark’s armor that reflects the original original suit that debuted with the character way back when. Whether or not this is the last time we’ll see the original six together or not, there’s no doubt that they will all look damn good doing it.
We already know what’s going on with Jeremy Renner’s Hawkeye, as he has now taken a turn into being Ronan. So the next two to talk about are Black Widow and Hulk. We can obviously see how Hulk, not Bruce Banner, is wearing an actual suit rather than just a pair of stretched shorts. Many hardcore fans are theorizing that this is in fact the adaptation of Professor Hulk, a very popular incarnation of the character from the comics. Black Widow on the other hands looks pretty similar to what she normally looks like, outside of a few things. One is her hair, which is longer and multi-colored. If you look closely, you can see the red and blonde blend towards the end of her hair. But the big significant piece of info here is what’s on Widow’s hand, which looks extremely close to what many are thinking is the Avengers’ time travel device for the movie. The same device has been seen on Tony Stark, Steve Rogers and Scott Lang in previous set photos.
No matter what other characters join these OG’s on their mission, or which ones return from being dusted, it’s pretty damn cool to see it come full circle with the original six being front-and-center for the most part. Let’s just hope that isn’t pointing towards bad results for the founding members. What do you think of the image? Do you like the marketing approach they’re taking? How about the original suits they’re shown in? Sound off in the comments below! Joe and Anthony Russo’s Avengers: Endgame arrives in theaters on April 26th.
