The Super Bowl was this past weekend and you may or may not have been happy with the outcome of the game, one thing is for sure, we were all happy we got a new Avengers: End Game mini trailer. The trailer showed us all new scenes that we haven’t seen before and it was crazy. It showed us how bad “The Decimation” aka the snap really is and how the universe really was just wiped out by half. Now let’s breakdown the trailer and talk about some of the important things you might have missed.
1. Opening with Dusted Heroes
Blink and you may miss it, but the trailer opens with all the dusted heroes from Avengers: Infinity War. Personally I didn’t even notice it the first time around but after multiple re-watches, you clearly see Wasp, Nick Fury, Spider-Man, Doctor Strange, Falcon, Scarlet Witch, the Guardians of the Galaxy, Black Panther, the Winter Solider aka Bucky and Vision, all of who were dusted in Avengers: Infinity War. Obviously we know that Rocket Raccoon did survive, but this is the best picture of all of them. Noticeably though in each picture the color red is highlighted. No clue why but maybe it means something.
2. Statue of Liberty
What is interesting about this photo to me is that the Statue of Liberty is as we all know on an island. But in the scene there are what looks like hundreds of boats surrounding the island which could suggest multiple things. One is that it may be some sort of meeting point for survivors of the snap or a place where people are going to. Another could simply just be that boats are just crashing around the island from after the snap when their owners disappeared. I find that one hard to believe though just because of the amount of boats surrounding the island, which leads me to believe its a meeting point for survivors.
3. Steve Rogers at a Support Group
After we seen the decimation that has been caused, we open to a scene suggesting a support group as there is a sign that says “Where do we go, now that they’re gone?”, giving us further reason to think it’s a support group. We then see Steve Rogers who is visibly anxious and almost uncomfortable making gestures with his mouth. One could almost think he kind of looks like he is shaking or bouncing his leg out of nervous energy. Clearly he is still very shaken up from the events of the first movie.
4. Tony and Nebula
We are then shown a scene of Tony Stark and Nebula working together to patch up the ship that they are stranded on. We all know that they are both on the Guardians of the Galaxy ship known as the Milano, stranded somewhere in space. What we don’t know however is if the two of them are working on something before or after the scene from the first trailer where Tony Stark says they are running out of oxygen, water, and food. This may very well be their first efforts before his statement or maybe after and they have figured something out.
5. Avengers HQ and Possible Missing Person #1
So we know that the surviving Avengers from the Battle of Wakanda have gone back to Avengers HQ in the United States and this is the first time we see them at the Headquarters. In the image we see Steve Rogers, Natasha Romanoff, Bruce Banner and James Rhodes looking up and walking toward something. What it is we don’t know, but what is most interesting is it seems that Marvel has removed a character walking in between Bruce Banner and James Rhodes as there is a giant gap between them. Speculation could be that it is Captain Marvel aka Carol Danvers, but it could honestly be anyone at this point.
6. Rocket Raccoon
This is the first time that we have seen Rocket since Avengers: Infinity War. He was left out of the first trailer and in this we see him entering some sort of shack or house. We also see that he is dressed in what looks like his classic blue and red comic accurate clothes. What is interesting is that he seems to be on an island by what we see in the background. In the background of the image we see fisherman traps as well as what looks like a beach on a rocky shore. We don’t really have any idea where that could be because Wakanda is a land locked country and it doesn’t really look like New York so maybe this is a new place we haven’t been before.
7. Black Widow Target Practice
While there isn’t really to much importance when it comes to this scene, what is important to notice is that Natasha’s hair seems to be much longer than her short blonde hair cut that she had in Avengers: Infinity War. The importance of this is showing how much time has passed since the events in the first movie.
8. War Machine and Ant-Man Suit Up
Again like with the last image, there isn’t to much importance in the image of the two characters. The only real significance that we can see here is that Ant-Man is still in his new suit from Ant-Man and the Wasp which allows him to go inside the Quantum Realm and for War Machine we have seen leaks that he will have new upgraded armor but this still seems to be his original armor that he has been wearing since Captain America: Civil War.
9. The Return of Thor
The first shot we get of Thor seems to be him contemplating what has happened or thinking about something. Then we get a full shot of him with his traditional red cape as well as him holding on to Stormbreaker in his right hand. What is interesting is again we don’t know where Thor is. It almost is giving off a vibe that he has exiled himself after failing to kill Thanos. We can see mountains in the background, which may inform us that he is somewhere in Wakanda or maybe even somewhere close to where Rocket is.
10. Hawkeye/ Ronan
We still don’t have a lot of information regarding what is going to be happening with Clint aka Hawkeye, but in this we can see him with his stylish new hair cut in what looks like some kinda of junk heap of some sorts. His face is lit up red and he seems to be looking up at something. No clue on what it is but something else noticable is that on his back he has two sets of quivers holding arrows. Now this could mean he is still Hawkeye or maybe he is Ronan and uses both arrows and swords like he is known to do in recent comics.
11. Return of the Shield
We have all been wondering if and more likely when will Captain America get his shield back. We have not seen in since he gave it up to Tony Stark at the end of Captain America: Civil War. Well he definitely has it back, but the most interesting thing is that we see when he goes to strap it on to his arm, his hands are visibly shaking. This could imply that Cap is suffering from some sort of PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder) from the events of the first movie, which is causing him to have anxiety about returning to fight. If this is the case we may be seeing a whole new type of Captain America that we were not expecting.
12. The Final Scene and Possible Missing Person #2
In the final and most talked about scene we see our heroes walking toward something to which we don’t know. The theories are going crazy at what is going on in the scene so lets break it down. #1 The characters we see from right to left are Captain America, Thor, Black Widow, Rocket, Ant-Man, War Machine, and Bruce Banner. What is interesting is there seems to be someone removed in between Ant-Man and War Machine. Maybe again this is Captain Marvel? Also, I am not sold on the Bruce Banner at the very end. I wouldn’t be surprised if this is actually Hulk and he was changed for the shot. #2 They seem to be wearing the white suits that we have seen leaked from the toy sets regarding that they are going into the Quantum Realm. They also seem ready to fight because Cap has his shield and ironically this is the first time we have seen them all together minus Iron Man and Nebula.
Now of course everything is speculation at point and any of these images could be cut or not even used in the final cut of the movie. One of the most iconic scenes from the Avengers: Infinity War trailer where all the characters were charging into battle in Wakanda was even used in the movie! Another thing is the fact that it has been stated that the trailers WILL NOT show anything past the first 20-25 minutes of the movie. Now this may be a lie but if it is true, that means we are going to see a lot of stuff going on in the first 20 minutes. My instincts tell me that’s a lie, but who knows.
So what do you think movie lovers? Do you agree with anything I said in the breakdown? Did I miss anything? Did you even like the trailer! Head down to the comments below and let me know what you think!
