Disney’s Mary Poppins Returns is now just a couple of hours of way, and while you may not need to see anymore for the film, it doesn’t hurt to watch the following clips to raise your excitement. The embargo for the film has been up for well over a week, with early reviews being heavily on the positive side. Of course, there are some who believe the movie is just a rehash of the past, but others see it as a truly fitting sequel to the beloved original.
Emily Blunt takes on the role of Mary Poppins this time, and quite honestly, there’s no better choice. I may be biased because of my love for what she does on screen, but trailers have only backed up my conclusion to the casting, as well as those early reviews. The surrounding cast is absolutely remarkable as well, which is led by the genius Lin-Manuel Miranda and Ben Whishaw (Skyfall, Spectre).
I’m checking out this film tonight and I’ve become surprisingly excited throughout my day. I’ve known about this film from the beginning, but it just seemed to fly under the radar until now. Although I do have a soft spot for La La Land, musicals are in no way, shape or form a genre that I look forward to. Don’t hate me, please. They just aren’t my forte. *throw hands in the air emoji* I’m going in with an open mind simply because of Emily Blunt. I would not be shocked if I walk out of the theater tonight with a smile on my face. Check back later for my reaction…
