New ‘Godzilla: King of the Monsters’ Trailer Promises a Clash of the Monstrous Titans

As promised and teased all last week, Warner Bros. and Legendary Pictures have officially released a brand new trailer for one of 2019s biggest movies, Godzilla: King of the Monsters. Although we’ve seen a very small amount of the movie thus far, King of the Monsters is easily one of the most anticipated movies of next year because of what it includes. It’s not just the every day smack down including Godzilla and another monstrous being, rather Godzilla versus its most classic counterparts: Mothra, Rodan and King Ghidora. The first trailer for the movie teased them without ever showing a full picture, that’s not the case for this trailer as each of the monster’s are fully unleashed on the world.

Full disclosure, I have yet to see the trailer. Why? I’m saving myself for our official reaction of it later today, so unfortunately I can’t explode about how much I enjoy these 2+ minutes. What I can say is that I have heard and seen nothing but incredible things about it. I didn’t grow up a huge Godzilla fan, but Garett Edwards’ 2014 film unlocked something I never knew I had, a thorough interest in the background and mythology of this world.

I’m not too sure how the old or classic films work with this character, but the history created specifically for this movie universe has locked me in as a viewer from the beginning. That also includes Kong: Skull Island. I legitimately can’t get enough of this ancient story they’re telling with these movies, with King of the Monsters sounding like it dives deeper than the previous two. How can you not be stoked out of your mind about these classic monsters (or as I love how they’re calling them, Titans) coming face-to-face to throw punches? You know where to find me next May.

Check out the new trailer below and make sure you leave your thoughts in the comments! Don’t leave me hanging readers, I want to hear your thoughts on this one. Are you looking forward to it just as much as I am? Which monster are you most excited to see? Did you not like the trailer? Directed by Michael Dougherty and starring Millie Bobby Brown, Vera Farmiga, Kyle Chandler, Ken Watanabe, Sally Hawkins, Bradley Whitford, O’Shea Jackson Jr. and Charles Dance, Godzilla: King of the Monsters smashes into theaters on May 31st, 2019.
