The first official look at the upcoming Ted Bundy biopic film has arrived! Thanks to some upcoming 2019 previews from various outlets across the country, as well as star Zac Efron himself, our first serious look at the Joe Berlinger film. Make itself unique compared to other biopic stories, the film will be told through the eyes of Bundy’s longtime girlfriend Elizabeth Kloepfer (Lily Collins), who refused to believe the truth about Bundy for years. Berlinger, who has a documentary background, is responsible for the highly, highly-anticipated Paradise Lost series, a main reason as to why this film is looked forward to as high as it is.

As the title points straight forward to, Bundy was an extremely wicked and shockingly vile human being. He sexually assaulted and murdered dozens of women through the 1970s, with reports saying he was “charismatic” and “handsome”, two traits that helped him gain the trust of many, if not all his victims. That makes Efron a near perfect casting. While some may disagree, he has become a very strong actor over the last few years, with this role being the possible highlight of them all.

I’m also very excited to see what director Joe Berlinger is able to express. His background with documentaries puts a very different kind of filter on the film. I’m even inclined to go as far as saying it gives him an advantage over others for a project such as this one. His perspective will be clearly different, something that may be a huge plus for this story.

The first image from above also came with the news that the film will be debuting next year at the Sundance Film Festival. That’s a pretty big vote of confidence, and if it does make a big splash there, it could be something we’re talking about down the line as 2019 comes to a close.
