Warner Bros. has released the second official trailer for their most-shocking franchise hit, The LEGO Movie 2: The Second Part. Written by Phil Lord and Chris Miller, who also directed the first but didn’t return for the sequel, The Second Part takes place five years after the events of the first movie, reuniting the heroes of Bricksburg to face a new threat, known as the LEGO DUPLO invaders, from outer space who are wrecking hack on everything they have. To defeat them, Emmet, Lucy and their friends will reach out into the universe to unexplored and musical worlds to restore harmony to everything Lego again.

The LEGO Movie was a complete anomaly. Everyone, and I mean everyone, expected this movie to be an absolute joke from the beginning, but that couldn’t have been more wrong. While I personally enjoyed the movie, but wasn’t ecstatic about it like everyone else on this planet, I still admit how much of a shock this movie was. WB has a real winner on their hand, and they know it. The immediately took to creating spinoffs, and while each of those movies hauled in a butt load of cash, there isn’t anything like the one that started it all.

As for how the sequel looks, it looks like it could be a ridiculous amount of fun. The first movie pretty much took on the entire planet, so it only seems logical that the sequel would jump to space. With the creative ideas that this LEGo universe has, the possibilities of worlds and beings that can be brought to LEGO life in this movie is endless, and this trailer definitely shows that. Not to mention that I LOVE that they’re playing off of Chris Pratt’s other movie roles with the sequel’s new character Rex, which is also voiced by Pratt. Pratt playing off of Pratt? Count me in.
