With it being a Disney property and innovative director Tim Burton directing the film, next year’s live-action adaptation of Dumbo promises to be one of the most vibrant films of the year. Now the film won’t be hitting theaters until March, but a brand new poster has made its way online that has also brought some exciting news for those looking forward to it.
Burton always seems to bring a bag of tricks with his films, whether it be more family-friendly like this or something a little more serious like Big Eyes, Burton always brings something different from any other director out there to his projects. It’s exactly why he’s the perfect choice for this story, because no matter how much we adore the story of Dumbo, it is a story that’s pretty far out there, which is why Disney eyed Burton and Burton only.
The poster is magnificent. It’s a beautiful blend of colors and design that will instantly attract audiences when it begins to be posted in theaters and billboards across the world. I’ve always said that for posters to be good, they need to capture the essence of a film and/or character in one single shot. If this wasn’t titled Dumbo or we didn’t know what it was, we would get an idea through looking at this poster. To me, that’s a great sign.
In other news, the poster also revealed that a brand new trailer will be released tonight during the CMA’s on ABC. We’ve only gotten the one teaser for the film so far, which tugged on the heart strings pretty hard. I expect this trailer to do that and then some. Make sure you come back here tonight as we’ll be posting the trailer and our official reaction as soon as it’s released. For now, what do you think of the poster? Does it get you excited? Are you looking forward to the trailer? Starring Colin Farrell, Michael Keaton, Danny DeVito, Eva Green, Alan Arkin, Finley Hobbins and Nico Parker, Burton’s Dumbo soars into theaters on March 29th, 2019.
