Lionsgate has released a trio of new clips for their upcoming retelling of the classic tale of Robin Hood. The movie stars Taron Egerton as young Robin, a war-hardened crusader who has joined forces with a Moorish commander (Jamie Foxx) in hopes of stirring the pot and successfully revolting against the corrupt English Crown.
Whatever the movie looks like or even early word of mouth says, I’m actually really looking forward to this movie. With all the attempts of this story over the years, I’m not too sure when we’ll ever get a successful telling of it, so why not enjoy what we’re given? Have I given up on this movie? Definitely not, but I know that it takes the side of blockbuster more than it should, which could end up turning off a lot of people. In fact, that’s what I’m looking forward to the most about it. Taron Egerton is a proven young star thanks to his Kingsman movies and Jamie Foxx is Jamie Foxx, he’s pretty damn good in almost everything he does (Electro was not his fault). That action looks outrageous and completely unnecessary, but I’m 100% all-in on it.
While November is usually jam-packed with Oscar contenders or smaller films who are finally getting a chance to see the big screen, we’ve had a pretty big drought lately when it comes to movies. There’s been a few here and there, but luckily November is crowded with flicks I’m looking forward to, including Robin Hood. I’ll be heading into this movie with a clear and open mind just looking to have some fun. Hopefully that’s exactly what I get.
In an attempt to hook more movie-goers out there, if the trailers haven’t already, Lionsgate has released three new clips for the movie. Each clips focuses on a different part of the movie, each of which are extended moments from what we saw in the trailer. Whether they are spoiler territory or not, I’m not positive as I haven’t and won’t watch them. If you do decided to watch them to just watch them or possibly to see if they can get you on board, please head down to the comments and let me know what you think of them.
