New ‘How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World’ Trailer Promises a Thrilling Final Installment

DreamWorks Animation has unveiled a brand new trailer for their upcoming animated movie How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World. Now Chief and ruler of Berk, Hiccup and Toothless must leave the beautiful dragon utopia they’ve created behind and venture into a hidden world thought to only be a myth following the sudden appearance of a female Light Fury and the darkest threat they’ve ever come across. As their true destinies are revealed, together, dragon and dragon rider will fight to the ends of the Earth to protect everything they’ve grown to love and cherish.

This movie looks amazing. I have been an avid follower of this franchise and although both previous movies are truly fantastic, the franchise has always seemed to be flying under the radar. The third and now final installment won’t be out until February, but it seems to be having the same affect on the movie-going audiences. There’s plenty of time to build anticipation, and now that this new trailer has dropped, I have no doubt that people will be buzzing about this movie from here on out.

The trailer has everything you want from this kind of movie. With it now official that The Hidden World will wrap up the entire How to Train Your Dragon as we know it, it will no doubt be an emotional ride for us who have attached to these characters for the last so many years, especially if you followed their stories in book form. The threat this time around does look like the toughest and darkest evil these characters have come across, and this “hidden world” of dragons is easily a story point interesting enough to get my butt to the theater. While I am interested to see the older Hiccup that has been teased a few times in previous footage, this trailer has me realizing that I can be patient because not only is it the last time I’ll see these characters and stories, but the journey to get there looks ridiculously emotional and thrilling, and I can’t wait to check it out early next year.

Check out the brand new trailer below! Once you have, head down to the comments and leave your thoughts. Have you followed this franchise as I have? Did you read the books? Are you in or out on The Hidden World? Featuring the voices of Jay Baruchel, America Ferrera, Cate Blanchett, Kit Harington, Craig Ferguson and F. Murray Abraham, How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World flies into theaters on February 22nd, 2019.

From DreamWorks Animation comes a surprising tale about growing up, finding the courage to face the unknown…and how nothing can ever train you to let go. What began as an unlikely friendship between an adolescent Viking and a fearsome Night Fury dragon has become an epic adventure spanning their lives. Welcome to the most astonishing chapter of one of the most beloved animated franchises in film history: How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World.

Now chief and ruler of Berk alongside Astrid, Hiccup has created a gloriously chaotic dragon utopia. When the sudden appearance of female Light Fury coincides with the darkest threat their village has ever faced, Hiccup and Toothless must leave the only home they’ve known and journey to a hidden world thought only to exist in myth.
