Alexander Skarsgård Added to ‘Godzilla vs. Kong’ Cast

We are all anxiously waiting and anticipating the release of next years 2014 Godzilla monster movie sequel Godzilla: King of the Monsters. We have already seen the epic trailer for the movie which is set to give us even more monsters including Mothra, Rodan and Godzilla’s most hated enemy, King Ghidorah. While we still have to wait till May 31st for the movie, Legendary Entertainment isn’t wasting time getting the epic Monsterverse movie going bring Godzilla head to head with Kong.

Not much is known about the movie other then it will directly follow 2019’s Godzilla: King of the Monsters and will be the first time that we see Kong since his debut in 2017’s Kong: Skull Island, unless he makes a surprise appearance in Godzilla: King of Monsters. The movie is set to begin filming next month in November and finish shooting in about February of 2019, while the movie is set for a May 22, 2020 release date. The only other information that we have is who will be starring in the cast, and as of today it has grown by one.

The most recent casting as of today was actor Alexander Skarsgård, who is known for Alexander Skarsgardhis roles in the TV show True Blood as well as this years Netflix movie Hold The Dark. All that is known of his role is that he will have a leading role and will be playing the leader of a military unit. Other than that no info is known on the character he will be playing. Returning cast members from Godzilla: King of Monsters includes Millie Bobby Brown as Madison Russell, Zhang Ziyi as Dr. Chen, Kyle Chandler as Mark Russell, and Van Marten as Dr. Chen’s Assistant. New cast members include Danai Gurira who played Okoye in Black Panther, Julian Dennison from Deadpool 2, Demian Bichir from The Nun, and Brian Tyree Henry from White Boy Rick.

The movie will be the 4th in the Legendary Entertainment MonsterVerse and could potentially be the last time we see these characters as no other films have been announced following Godzilla vs. Kong. Regardless the epicness that we should be seeing with all the monsters in Godzilla: King of Monsters and then followed directly by Godzilla squaring off against Kong, should be more than anyone can handle!
