The first thing you might of thought of when you read the headline was, “I have never heard of this writer/director.” And while he doesn’t have a blockbuster movie to his name, he does have quite the resume of writer and directorial movies that he has done. Some of his work includes 2013’s Breathe In, starring Guy Pearce and Felicity Jones and also most recently his film titled Zoe which starred Ewan McGregor and Lea Seydoux. Well now his hopes of getting more recognition for his work might be coming soon as he has aligned a pretty awesome cast for his next directorial movie.

While the movie doesn’t have a title nor a release date, the movie will be written and directed by Drake Doremus and co-writing the movie is novelist Jardine Libaire. The movie does have a plot synopsis however saying:

“The movie is set in present day Los Angeles and follows Daphne, a thirty-something year old woman navigating love and heartbreak over the course of one year. During that time, she will unlock the secrets to her life in a sudden turn of events and in the most surprising of places.

The movie sounds like your typical coming of age movie about a woman finding her place in life, the cast surrounding it is what makes things a little more interesting. First up is the main character of Daphne. Daphne will be played by Shailene Woodley, who you may know from Allegiant trilogy, Adrift, or more recently the HBO series Big Little Lies. Woodley is a great and undervalued actress in Hollywood but is very powerful in her acting roles.

The next actor that has been cast is Jaime Dornan. Dornan is of course known for his role of Christian Grey in the 50 Shades of Grey trilogy, but also roles on ABC’s Once Upon a Time and next months Robin Hood remake which also stars Taron Egerton and Jaime Foxx. We currently don’t know the role he is playing in the movie.

Joining Woodley and Dornan in the untitled movie is Sebastian Stan. Stan most famously known for his roles in the Marvel movies as Bucky Barnes aka the Winter Soldier. But he has also been making a name for himself in roles in movies such as I, Tonya, The Martian, and Logan Lucky. Like Dornan he also had a stint on the ABC tv series Once Upon a Time. We also do not know currently who Stan is playing in the movie.

The final person cast in the untitled film is actor Matthew Gray Gubler. Gubler for his long standing role on the CBS TV series Criminal Minds. He has also had roles in movies such as 500 Days of Summer, the voice of Simon in Alvin and the Chipmunks, but unlike the other actors named before, Gubler and Doremus have a history working together on projects such as Zoe and Newness, so a relationship between the actor and the director is there from previous work.
