We all know that Lady Gaga can sing and dance, but most of us didn’t know how amazing of an actress she was until recently. Her portrayal of Ally in Bradley Cooper’s A Star is Born has sky rocketed her into a stratosphere that not many people have been
able to get too, be it her triple threat ability to sing, act, and dance. Her role in A Star is Born even has many calling for her to win next years Academy Award for Best Actress. And while that may be true but some time aways, she has now become the target of many studio eyes, including Disney.

It is well known that Disney has begun to take a lot of their classic animated movies and begun turning them into live action movies. We have seen that with Cinderella, The Jungle Book, and most recently Beauty and the Beast. The success of Beauty and the Beast has definitely left fans wanting more of the classic Disney type stories. And while stories like Mulan and Aladdin are coming soon, many have been left wanting the story of The Little Mermaid to be told and turned into a live acton movie.

Disney hasn’t been shy in saying that they want to do a live action version of The Little Mermaid at some point, but they are taking this movie very seriously knowing the following it has and wanting to cast the right actors for the roles. It was however rumored that Disney had already extended an offer to actress Zendaya to helm the role of Ariel, but no conformation has ever come from it. Now with the success of Lady Gaga in her movie debut, it is rumored that Disney has their eye on her to play The Little Mermaid classic villain Ursula.

For those that may not remember the character of Ursula, Ursula is the evil sea witch who takes Ariel’s voice in a deal to give Ariel legs so that she can walk on land. We all know that The Little Mermaid is a Disney classic that is heavy on the singing, which has brought us Disney classic songs like “Under The Sea”, “Kiss The Girl”, and “Part Of That World”. So to cast Lady Gaga in a movie heavy on singing, is definitely not a bad idea. Again though Disney is keeping very tight lipped about the movie and has not revealed anything in regards to the movie.
