1950s Drama ‘The Banker’ Directed By George Nolfi Has Produced an All-Star Cast

George Nolfi is known for his writing contributions to films such as The Bourne Ultimatum and Ocean’s Twelve. He directed 2011’s The Adjustment Bureau and more recently 2016’s Birth of the Dragon. Now he has been tapped to take on the fact based drama that he and Nicole Levy wrote tentatively titled The Banker. Brad Feinstein is set to produce, who helped contribute towards 2016’s Oscar award winning movie Fences.

The movie is loosely based on the story of two African American Entrepreneurs during a racial fueled 1950’s. The two men, Bernard Garrett and Joe Morris come up with a plan to have a working class run of the mill white man named Matt Steiner, pose as the head of their business, while they pose as a janitor and chauffeur. While the two men are responsible, Bernard’s wife Eunice also plays a key role in setting up the business. Garrett and Morris eventually become two of the most successful and wealthiest real estate owners in the country with Steiner at the helm, but with wealth and success trouble loomes and they could end up being exposed for their front.

While the movie sounds fantastic and a great thriller of a movie, the story only gets reinforced by its fantastic cast. In the role of Bernard Garrett, Anthony Mackie has been cast. Most recently known for his portrayal of Sam Wilson aka Falcon in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. For the role of Joe Morris, Samuel L. Jackson has been cast to take on the role. Obviously known for his many movie roles, most recently as Nick Fury in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, he has a long list of fantastic movies that follow his name. In the role of Matt Steiner, Nicholas Hoult has been cast to play the part. He is known for his roles in movies such as Mad Max: Fury Road as well as Beast in the last three X-Men movies. Finally the role of Eunice will be played by Nia Long who is known for her roles in Friday, Big Mommas House 2, as well as her TV work on shows such as Fox’s Empire.

With a great sounding story and an outstanding cast so far, the movie sounds like it will definitely be one that you want to keep an eye and an ear out for in the future. Filming has begun in Atlanta, Georgia but no word has been spoken for a release date.
