Annapurna Pictures has released the first official trailer for their highly-anticipated Dick Cheny biopic titled Vice. Written and directed by Adam McKay, the film stars Christian Bale (who worked with McKay on The Big Short) as former Vice President Dick Cheney and will tell the story of his early days in the White House to his rise as VP to President George W. Bush and quietly becoming one of the most powerful men in the world. The film also stars Amy Adams, Steve Carell and Sam Rockwell.
I’m absolutely stunned by this trailer. I’ll be honest, I had strayed away from this trailer for most of yesterday because I’m pretty exhausted with the political aspect of our world that has been going on lately. But when I decided to click play, I became ridiculously excited that I did two-minutes later. This not only a phenomenally put together trailer, but the film looks magnificent. Bale looks unrecognizable as Cheney, the supporting cast is as good as it can get, and McKay as a director for this source material has become second-to-none over the last few years. What’s even better is that the trailer rarely even focuses on Cheney’ political life, replacing that with footage of him operating outside the suit and tie life. That’s the aspect of the story that gets me so interested, as I’m suer it will you as well.
Take a look at the first official trailer below! What did you think of it? Are you even interested in this type of film? Do you expect it to reveal it all? Make sure you head down to the comments and leave all your thoughts there! McKay’s Vice is set to be released in theaters on December 25th.
Explores the epic story about how a bureaucratic Washington insider quietly became the most powerful man in the world as Vice-President to George W. Bush, reshaping the country and the globe in ways that we still feel today.
