‘Rocketman’ Teaser Reveals Taron Egerton In Elton John Biopic

Paramount Pictures has released the official teaser trailer for Rocketman. The musical fantasy biopic is directed by Dexter Fletcher (Eddie the EagleBohemian Rhapsody) and stars Taron Egerton as Elton John in the most unusual, yet interesting biopic maybe ever created for film. Descried as a musical fantasy film, it will retell the life of John both personally and professionally.

After watching the trailer, it’s very clear that the fantasy elements this movie is described as will either make or break the film. Without these elements, it’s just your everyday musical biopic. I would not mind that whatsoever, but I also don’t mind something as interesting and different as the film that Fletcher looks to be giving us. It will help set this story apart from all the other biopics, which is something I believe a polarizing figure like Elton John deserves.

If this trailer did anything for me, it got me extremely interested in seeing what comes next for the movie. It’s not being released until next summer, which could mean a first official trailer could be a while away. But after watching this teaser, which only focuses on Egerton as John, I can’t wait to see what else the film has in store for us. And that doesn’t just have to do with the fantasy element of it, but the strong supporting cast and wide time frame its focusing on as well.

Check out the trailer below and make sure to head down to the comments and leave your thoughts as well! What do you think of Egerton in the role? Do you like the fantasy element? Are you now interested in the project? Also starring Jamie Bell, Richard Madden and Bryce Dallas Howard, Fletcher’s Rocketman will be released in theaters on May 31st, 2019.
