Paramount Pictures has released the first official trailer for their upcoming comedy Instant Family. Written and directed by Sean Anders (Daddy’s Home), the movie will follow Pete (Mark Wahlberg) and Ellie (Rose Byrne) hope to start a family and stumble their way into the foster care system. While they went in hoping for one small child, they end up taking in three siblings together. The two must now hilariously learn the ways of parenting overnight in hopes of becoming a family.
The premise of the movie is actually quite touching, especially since it’s actually based on real life events from director Sean Anders. He’s equipped the story with some strong talent, including Rose Byrne who is easily one of the funniest people on the planet. Wahlberg is Wahlberg, and while he can be a serious good time in this type of role, I’m a bit worried of his team-up with Anders again. Daddy’s Home, in my opinion, is one of the dullest comedies of the last few years. It was just boring, and while Will Ferrel played a big part in that movie, I’m not too sure his role was the reason it was that bad. I like the story, I like the leads and am a big fan of the supporting cast, I’m just hoping Anders is able to pull of some magic with a movie that’s based around him.
Check out the first official trailer below and make sure you head down to the comments to leave your thoughts! Will it be better than Daddy’s Home? Are Wahlberg and Byrne a great duo? Will you be passing on this comedy? Also starring Isabel Moner, Octavia Spencer, Tig Notaro, and Margo Martingale, Instant Family is released on November 16th.
When Pete (Mark Wahlberg) and Ellie (Rose Byrne) decide to start a family, they stumble into the world of foster care adoption. They hope to take in one small child but when they meet three siblings, including a rebellious 15-year-old girl (Isabela Moner), they find themselves speeding from zero to three kids overnight. Now, Pete and Ellie must hilariously try to learn the ropes of instant parenthood in the hopes of becoming a family. INSTANT FAMILY is inspired by the real events from the life of writer/director Sean Anders and also stars Octavia Spencer, Tig Notaro and Margo Martindale.
