A while back it was announced that Denis Villeneuve was planning on taking on the director position to remake the movie Dune. While the movie has been remade more than a few times, the most known version is from 1984 directed by David Lynch which starred Kyle MacLaughlan. While much isn’t known yet about the route the movie will go, Villeneuve’s version will star Timothee Chalamet as the lead character of Paul Atreides.
For those of you unfamiliar with the plot of Dune, the movie follows the Atreides as they relocate to the desert planet Arrakis where they are taking over the production of the galaxies most valuable resource, the Spice Melange. Quickly there after an act of treachery makes an out cast of the youngest son Paul Atreides (Chalamet). He then must accept his fate as well as accept his destiny as a powerful prophet of the Arrakis natives known as The Fremen.
With the lead role of Paul cast, slowly more roles are being looked at, one of them being the role of Lady Jessica. Lady Jessica is the mother of Paul Atreides in the movie and currently the actress being eyed for the role is Mission Impossible: Fallout actress Rebecca Ferguson. With her stellar performance in Mission Impossible: Fallout and the popularity of the movie, a role like this would be huge for the for the movie and an awesome addition to the cast.
