‘Top Gun: Maverick’ Adds Jennifer Connelly to Its Growing Cast

The sequel to the 80s hit Top Gun has kicked into full gear and has been making a lot of noise as of late with the official title being dropped, Top Gun: Maverick, and that the story was going to revolve around Tom Cruise’s character, Maverick, being a instructor to a new batch of pilots. One of those new up and coming pilots is going to be Maverick’s old partner Goose, who tragically died in the first movie, son will be played by Miles Teller in the sequel. It was also announced that Iceman, Maverick’s old rival, played by Val Kilmer will be returning as well.

While that was a lot of news already, the news train keeps on rolling as it is now reported that another new cast member has joined the sequel. It was announced that Jennifer Connelly will be joining the sequel and this ever growing cast. Connelly is best known for her Academy Award winning performance in A Beautiful Mind and most recently in roles in Only The Brave and she is the voice of Karen in Marvel’s Spider-Man: Homecoming. Who she will be playing is not official but Variety is reporting that she will be playing a single mother who runs a bar by the air force base.

For me at first I thought that this movie was something that shouldn’t have even been a thought. I felt it should have been left alone . But the more and more I am hearing and so far with the cast that has been presented, I am being drawn into the idea of this movie and starting to get on board with it. But what do you think? Do you think that Jennifer Connelly is a good casting for this movie? Are you even into this movie? Let us know in the comments below!
