‘Godzilla: King of the Monsters’ Trailer Makes Its Comic-Con Debut

The King is back and this time he has brought a few “friends” with him to fight. Warner Bros. and Legendary Pictures held their panel today at Comic-Con where they premiered the first trailer for Godzilla: King of Monsters, the sequel to 2014’s Godzilla directed MV5BMTg4OTQwOTcwNV5BMl5BanBnXkFtZTgwMzk0NTQ5NTM@._V1_SY1000_CR0,0,674,1000_AL_by Gareth Edwards. It debuted in the famous Hall H and is the third movie in Warner Bros. “MonsterVerse” following Godzilla (2014), Kong: Skull Island (2017) leading up to 2020’s Godzilla vs. Kong.

The movie stars Millie Bobby Brown, Vera Farming, Kyle Chandler, Bradley Whitford, Charles Dance, Ziyi Zhang, and O’Shea Jackson. Returning in this movie is also Ken Watanabe and Sally Hawkins’ who were in 2014’s Godzilla, where they played two members of Monarch. If you recall Monarch is the semi-secret organization who monitors the giant monsters around the world. In the trailer we see that the world is trying to deal with the threat of these monsters that keep appearing. Throughout the week Warner Bros. has been teasing us with Godzilla’s enemies appearing and it looks like we will be getting Rodan, Mothra, and King Ghidorah.

When it comes to the human’s role in the movie, the plot revolves around Monarch scientist Dr. Emma Russell (Farmiga) as she and her daughter Madison (Brown) are kidnapped by a secret monster hunting organization, due to the fact that Dr. Russell may have found a way to speak with the monster’s, and maybe even control them.
