Jennifer Lopez Fakes Her Way to the Top in the First Trailer for ‘Second Act’

STX Entertainment has released the first official trailer for the upcoming Jennifer Lopez led Second Act. Directed by Peter Segal, Lopez stars as a 40-year old woman struggling after not fulfilling the life she dreamed of having. But now that’s all changed, as Maya has another chance at proving that street smarts are just as valuable as book smarts.

Jennifer Lopez movies of the past are definitely aimed towards a certain market, and Second Act is no different. While that very much is the case, this could ultimately be a different story because of director Peter Segal. Segal is responsible for some of the genres most classic movies of the past few decades, including titles like Tommy Boy50 First Dates and Get Smart. What do all of those comedies have in common? At the center of each story is heart. They’re more than dirty or over-the-top jokes, there’s an end goal with each story and that gives me a little confidence following seeing this trailer.

What do you think about the trailer? How excited or not excited are you for it? Is it Jennifer Lopez or peter Segal that gets you more interesting in seeing this movie? Also starring Milo Ventimiglia, Vanessa Hudgens and Leah Remini, Second Act will be released on November 21st.

Second Act is a comedy in the vein of Working Girl and Maid In Manhattan. Jennifer Lopez stars as Maya, a 40-year-old woman struggling with frustrations from unfulfilled dreams. Until, that is, she gets the chance to prove to Madison Avenue that street smarts are as valuable as book smarts, and that it is never too late for a Second Act.
