Jaime Foxx Recruits Taron Egerton in the New ‘Robin Hood’ Trailer

Lionsgate and Summit Entertainment have unveiled a brand new trailer for Robin Hood ahead of the studio bringing the film to San Diego Comic Con this weekend. Starring Taron Egerton as the war hardened crusader, and joined by his commanding mentor (Jaime Foxx), the two revolt against the corrupt English crown in a revamped, modern telling with high-octane action of the classic Robin Hood tale.

If they’re going for mind-blowing stunts and thrilling camera work, then they’ve achieved that and then some. While the first trailer very much played off the whole “who’s the hood?” scenario, this trailer pushes that aside and gives us a complete feeling of what we’ll be watching in just a few weeks. Great trailers not only keep pieces hidden with quick teases, but they give us the full essence of the film. I now feel like I know exactly what kind of movie to expect.

It’s also worth noting that the pairing of Egerton and Foxx looks ridiculously fun. They are two extremely strong talents and putting them together ins’t only unique, but looks like it’s a total success. The characters of Robin and Little John are obviously key pieces in this story, but with a little twist on it this time around, these two look absolutely perfect for the roles. I wouldn’t be surprised if this movie is either a hit or miss depending on their chemistry and relationship in the story.

Check out the new trailer below and leave your thoughts in the comments! How do you feel about the rattling of this classic story? What about Egerton and Foxx? Have the trailers gotten you more interested as they’ve come out? Also starring Ben Mendelsohn, Jamie Dornan and Eve Hewson, Otto Bathurst’s Robin Hood hits theaters on November 21st.

Robin of Loxley (Taron Egerton) a war-hardened Crusader and his Moorish commander (Jamie Foxx) mount an audacious revolt against the corrupt English crown in a thrilling action-adventure packed with gritty battlefield exploits, mind-blowing fight choreography, and a timeless romance.
