‘Godzilla: King of the Monsters’ Teaser Released Ahead of Full Trailer This Weekend!

Just as it was a few years ago, Warner Bros. brought Hall H down at SDCC with the announcement of their monster universe with classic monsters like Godzilla and King Kong leading the way. Gareth Edwards’ Godzilla paved the way for everything that followed, including the prequel set Kong: Skull Island. It was a hit, and brought a new excitement to the character of King Kong. But now, the true King has returned as WB is bringing Godzilla: King of the Monsters to San Diego this year, where the first official trailer will be released. But don’t worry, if you aren’t attending (like myself), they’ve gracefully released a short teaser to hold us over until we peasants get to see the first real trailer.

The teaser stars Millie Bobby Brown, who plays the daughter of Vera Farmiga’s monarch scientist Emma Russell and her ex-husband Mark Russell, played by Kyle Chandler. The footage is only focused on Brown in what looks like a communication room, where she reaches out for monarch, the legendary monster organization, where she then hears yells and screams, obviously meaning some very bad things are going on outside.

I can’t wait to see this full-length trailer. I have had an extremely good time watching both Godzilla and Skull Island, which is only two reasons why my excitement has heightened for this sequel. While I would’ve loved to have seen Gareth Edwards back directing the sequel, I have faith in director Michael Dougherty and the team he has around him to bring us some insanely awesome carnage from some of film’s most classic monsters. With it dropping at Comic Con this weekend, I do expect the trailer to be a little bit more than just a teaser. WB is bringing a trailer to blow peoples minds, and I have no doubt they will sited at that. For us who aren’t attending, hopefully that also means they’ll let us see it much sooner rather than later.

Check out the teaser below and after doing so, let me know your thoughts in the comments! Does the teaser get you interested? How excited are you for the official trailer? What kind of carnage are you hoping to see? Also starring Ken Watanabe, Sally Hawkins, Bradley Whitford, O’Shea Jackson Jr. and Charles Dance, Godzilla: King of the Monsters hits theaters on May 31st, 2019.
