Sony Reportedly Adding Another Spider-Man Spinoff to Their Movie Slate

Sony has been looking to capitalize of the massive success of Spider-Man and his entrance into the Marvel Cinematic Universe by creating a bunch of spinoff movies revolving around Spider-Man’s comic book universe. The first of course being Venom which will be released in October and also stepping their foot into the animated world with Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse which revolves around Miles Morales instead of Peter Parker. Sony has also been in active development of a female lead movie, Silver and Black revolving around Black Cat and Silver Sable; with other movies including their “action-horror” film Morbius the Living Vampire, Nightwatch, Mysterio, and SilkKraven the Hunter.

As you can see they have a lot of ideas and movies in development, but that doesn’t mean that they don’t want to add more to the mix. It was recently reported that Sony is interested in adapting a movie around the Spider-Man character Silk. Silk is a Korean American girl named Cindy Moon, who was bitten by the same spider that bit Peter
Parker and gave him his powers. In the comics her powers are relatively the same as Peter’s but her “Spider-Sense” known as “Silk-Sense” is far better than Peter Parker’s, she tends to be faster, has a photographic memory and can shoot webbing from her finger tips.

SilkWhile nobody knows if Sony plans to use Tom Hollands Spider-Man in any of these movies, it is worth knowing that Cindy Moon actually already exists in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. She was played by Tiffany Espensen and first appeared as a classmate of Peter’s in Spider-Man: Homecoming and she brief made another quick appearance in Avengers: Infinity War during the bus scene but don’t anticipate her getting a bigger role in the MCU.

So what do you think? Are you excited for another Sony Spider-Man Spinoff? Or are they taking it a little too far with all of these spinoff movies. Let us know what you think in the comments below!
