Michael B. Jordan Wants to Rewrite History in the First ‘Creed II’ Trailer

As promised, the first trailer for Creed II has officially been released. Directed by Steven Caple Jr., the highly, highly-anticipated sequel looks to continue the powerful story the original started as Adonis Creed (Michael B. Jordan) continues his training with legendary Rocky Balboa (Sylvester Stallone) in preparation for what will be his biggest fight yet, a match with Vitor Drago, the son of Ivan Drago.

I think I can safely say that I’m looking forward to this film more than just about anyone. When I heard this trailer was coming, I tried to wipe my schedule clean so I could watch it as soon as possible. I finally got that chance earlier today and boy did it not disappoint. I will say this, I wasn’t on board to begin with. I was a bit confused with the story direction, and more importantly, the character direction of Adonis Creed. He climbed mountains in the first film and I felt like it was a step backwards. But after watching it a few times and really getting to understand it, I’m starting to like it.

Rather than just put a competitive obstacle in his way, which is what the original Rocky movies did, it now includes temptation and family drama. What will he do? The trailer does a damn good job of teasing all of that and more and it’s leaving me very excited to see this movie in just a matter of months. Hopefully it’s a one punch knockout.

Check out the awesome first trailer below and make sure you leave your thoughts in the comments! What do you think? Are you just as excited as I am? Also starring Tessa Thompson, Florian Munteanu and Dolph Lindgren, Caple Jr.’s Creed II hits theaters on November 21st.
