Ant-Man and the Wasp is inching closer and closer with each passing day, and in preparation for the smallest movie of the summer, Marvel has really amped up their marketing for the tiny sequel as of late. Directed by Peyton Reed, the sequel finds Scott Lang and Hope Van Dyne teaming up to enter the quantum realm and to uncover secrets of the past.
Two brand new posters have dropped for the film, both exclusive to IMAX and Dolby Cinema respectively. The IMAX poster might be the coolest as it features Giant-Man at what could be his biggest size yet. Being IMAX, it only makes sense to feature that side of the character, with trailers heavily teasing the presence of that “mode” in the sequel. It also begs the question, is Wasp tiny or at normal size? Serious questions over here guys.
As for the Dolby piece, it’s quite a beautiful one-sheet. The colors and organization of the characters is masterful, and while it does feature elements of Marvel posters of the past, attaching the beehive setting is a very smart and creative way to differentiate it from those like it. I’m also a big fan of Wasp and her wings in this poster, as we haven’t really gotten a still look at the character with the wings expanded. Bravo to Marvel and their creators for this one.
Don’t forget to check out the three latest TV spots for the movie as well! I haven’t personally watched them, so I can’t say whether or not they show anything not wanted to be seen. After diving into the new posters and watching (or not watching) the new spots, head down to the comments and let me know your thoughts on movie and what you’ve seen from it so far. Also starring Michael Pena, Walter Goggins, Hannah John-Kamen, Michelle Pfeiffer, Bobby Cannavale, Judy Greer, T.I., Randall Park, Laurence Fishburne and Michael Douglass, Reed’s Ant-Man and the Wasp flies into theaters on July 6th.
