We got the news in September of last year that we would be getting a Men in Black spin-off movie set for sometime in 2019. In February, news broke that Chris Hemsworth was cast as one of the leads in the untitled spinoff. The following month in March, news broke that Hemsworth would be having a Thor: Ragnarok reunion because Tessa Thompson had been cast as his co-star for the spin-off movie as well. Ever since then we haven’t really heard much more about the project until now.
It was recently announced that Liam Neeson has joined the cast of the spin-off movie alongside Hemsworth and Thompson. Neeson is known for his roles in movies like Batman Begins where he played Ra’s al Ghul and Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace. While we don’t have any official news on his role, speculation is that he will be taking on the role as the Head U.K. Director of the M.I.B.
While the script has not officially released a plot description, the have stated that it will not be a remake of the original Men in Black movies, but more of a extension of the universe and will follow the agents, Hemsworth and Thompson, as they follow aliens on a completely different continent.
So what do you guys think? Do you like the castings so far, or are not excited for this at all. Let us know in the comments below!
