First ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’ Trailer Finally Reveals the Freddie Mercury & Queen Biopic

20th Century Fox has finally unveiled the first official trailer for their upcoming Freddie Mercury / Queen biopic, Bohemian Rhapsody. The film will story the historic rise of the band Queen, but also focusing on the personal story of their leading man Freddie Mercury, who is played by Rami Maleck (Mr. Robot). While Bryan Singer was the original director for the project, Eddie the Eagle helmer Dexter Fletcher took over during production due to a shocking firing.

The trailer is full of a lot of things in quite a short amount of time. But at the same time, it’s still just a teaser. While we get loads of stuff in the short 90 seconds it runs, we still don’t a full focus on the exact story it will be telling. There’s teases, of course, and we know as fans that it will focus on both the band and Mercury. But as far as the trailer goes, it very much holds things back, which may be the best for the project.

I personally don’t know a whole lot about this specific story. I’ve heard rumblings or bit here and there, but when I sit down to watch this film later this year, It’ll be my first time getting the full-fledged story, and that excites me. Of course, the mid-filming firing of Bryan Singer does scare me because of Fox’s previous track record (Fantastic Four), but I was a huge fan of Eddie the Eagle and having Fletcher join the project does wash away a little bit of that hesitancy. And obviously, what can I say about the casting of Malek as Mercury? It’s basically a perfect casting.

Check out the first official trailer below and make sure to leave your thoughts in the comments below! Are you a fan of Queen? How much are you looking forward to this biopic? What about Malek as Mercury? Bohemian Rhapsody will be released on November 2nd.
