With the year almost half way over and the summer box office in full swing, we are starting to get a little bit of what to expect in the second half of the year. The Freddie Mercury/ Queen biopic movie Bohemian Rhapsody has now released it’s first poster as well as a quick teaser trailer. While you don’t get very much from the teaser, the poster gives us everything we need to know about the upcoming movie. Anyone who knows the band Queen, knows the extravagant costumes, colors and performances that Freddie Mercury gave us as the lead singer of Queen. This is shown by the colorful purple poster with the flashy aviator glasses and Freddie Mercury’s trademark mustache.
For a lot of fans, we didn’t know if we were ever going to get this movie due to the constant actor, screenplay and director changes that came from this movie. Sacha Baron Cohen was the original actor sought to play Mercury but backed out due to the current members of Queen disapproving of him portraying Mercury. Then we had actor Ben Whishaw and director Dexter Fletcher, who both later departed after disagreements with producer Graham King. Then came director Bryan Singer and actor Rami Malek came on, but later Singer was fired due to reported weird on-set behavior, fights with actor Rami Malek, mixed with his previous sexual assault accusations. After that previous director Dexter Fletcher was brought back to finish the project.
While its amazing that this movie is still going to happen with all the drama surrounding it, for a lot of fans this movie is still bringing a lot of attention as well as excitement. We will have to see if the trailer tomorrow is a hit or a flop. Check back tomorrow for the trailer!
