It seems as if director Christopher McQuarrie, Tom Cruise and Mission: Impossible 6 has taken it upon theirselves to use social media as their release platform as their new movie draws closer. While we’ve seen plenty of behind-the-scene shots of the official cast, we haven’t heard from the film in quite some time. That has all changed as it seems everything Mission: Impossible – Fallout will be coming our way very soon.
That’s right, the sixth entry into the Mission: Impossible franchise is titled Fallout. How do we know? Well, action legend himself, Tom Cruise, officially joined Instagram yesterday and posted a legendary first picture that revealed the film’s official title. Not only that, but a brand new image has been release as well, showing Tom Cruise once again performing see kind of crazy, death-defying stunt on his own.
As for the title, it suggests that it will be a direct sequel to Rogue Nation, McQuarrie’s first time behind the camera in the franchise. Rogue Nation had some pretty major implications for the franchise as a whole, so it comes to no surprise that this may be the case. Now we look forward to how exactly that will happen, as there is no official synopsis for the film yet.
Newcomers joining Tom Cruise this time include Henry Cavill, Angela Basset and Vanessa Kirby, along with returning players Rebecca Ferguson, Simon Pegg, Ving Rhames and Michelle Monaghan. With this news dropping early yesterday, look out for much more on Fallout is the near future, especially a first look trailer with the Super Bowl just around the corner. Mission: Impossible – Fallout hits theaters this summer on July 27th.
