See the Full List of Nominations for the 2018 Oscars

Alas, the final nominations for next month’s 90th Academy Awards have been unveiled. As the list was revealed earlier this morning, it came with many expected decisions and surprises, of both the good and head-scratching kind. The film that was given the most nominations? Guillermo del Toro’s The Shape of Water, which landed nods in categories such as Best Picture, Best Director, Best Actress and Best Original Screenplay.

Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri was the next closest film with 9 nominations, including categories such as Best Picture, Best Actress, Best Supporting Actor and Best Editing. The surprise comes with what received the third highest nominations. It wasn’t Lady BirdCall Me By Your Name or even Spielberg’s The Post, but rather Christopher Nolan’s Dunkirk, which also came with Nolan’s first-ever Best Director nomination. Yeah, you read that right.

In comparison to what we predicted here on Apocaflix!, it’s around exactly what I thought. While I’m happy to see both Blade Runner 2049 and Baby Driver get some nods, I personally would’ve liked to seen them be included in some of the more major categories as I believe they are two of the best of 2017. But hey, that’s just me. As far as other surprises and snubs, you can see what made the cut and didn’t in the full list of nominations below.
