Warner Bros. has released a new trailer for the upcoming video game adaptation of Rampage. Directed by Brad Peyton (San Andreas) and starring Dwayne Johnson and Naomie Harris, Rampage is based on the classic arcade video game where giant monsters smash through cities. It’s safe to say the first trailer for this adaptation surprised a lot of people, as the movie seems to be taking itself quite seriously. that only continues in this latest batch of footage.
While Dwayne Johnson has kind of been everywhere lately, which hopefully slows down some time soon, I’m down for a monster movie starring him and the incredibly underrated Naomie Harris. I remember playing this video game when I was younger and while I never imagined that game coming to life as such a movie like this, it only makes sense in this day and age of film. Could it end up being seriously cheesy and way over-the-top, there’s a big chance, but it could also be a ton of fun, just as Johnson’s movies usually are.
Check out the new trailer below. After doing so, head down to the comments and leave your thoughts on the footage and movie in general. Do you remember the game? Is this adaptation too much for you? Or does it look just right? Also starring Jeffrey Dean Morgan and Joe Manganiello, Rampage smashes into theaters on April 20th.
