As we start the new year we are getting close to some pretty big releases. One of those is the highly anticipated sequel to Pacific Rim. Set 10 years after the events of the first movie we will see returning characters as well as some new ones in Pacific Rim Uprising. One of those new comers, and who seems to be the lead of this movie is John Boyega, who is known for his role as Finn in the new Star Wars movies. He will be playing Jake Pentecost, the son of Stacker Pentecost, who was played by Idris Elba in the first movie.
As well as John Bodega joining the franchise, we will see Scott Eastwood joining the cast. Not much is known about his character at the time other than that his name is Nate Lambert and he is another Jaeger operator. Personally I think he was cast in the movie to take the role left by Charlie Hunnam’s character. Regardless of the reason, I have always enjoyed Scott Eastwood and think he will be a great addition to the movie.
In the second set of images we see John Bodega with another new character named Amara Namani played by Cailee Spaeny. She will be playing the role of a 15 year old computer expert. The other image is of John Boyega walking through some type of walk way with wires potentially maybe inside one of the large Jaegers.
The final and in my opinion most exciting image is that of potentially two Jaegers seemingly about to face off! Could we see a betrayal in the mist of the movie? Now we can’t be 100% sure that this is another Jaeger, but it is likely due to the fact that we can see another sword, which looks like the same sword the blue Jaeger has. Could we end up seeing a fight between Jaegers vs. Kaijus AND Jaeger vs. Jaegers!! Either way it presents an exciting idea!
So what do you guys think of the images above? Do these images get you more excited for Pacific Rim Uprising? I know the Jaeger vs. Jaeger image gets me pumped up for the movie. We don’t have much longer of a wait with the release scheduled for March 23rd, 2018. Let us know what you think in the comments below!
