Through his career, Zac Efron has been known as the pretty boy who takes his shirt off and is typically good at raunchy R-rated comedies. While that’s not a bad thing, because he’s actually pretty good at being funny, he could be taking a step towards a bit of a bigger career. Efron took to his Twitter account recently to reveal a behind-the-scenes image for his upcoming film Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil, and Vile, where he’ll be playing serial killer Ted Bundy.
The biopic will chronicle the story of Bundy, a serial killer and rapist who has somehow turned into a complete ladies man over time. That alone is something that interests me immediately. A serial killer who was seen as a ladies man? Played by Zac Efron? I’m in. But one of the cooler aspects of this story is that writer Michael Werwie crafted the script to be told from the perspective of Bundy’s girlfriend Elizabeth Kloepfer, who is being played by the always fabulous Lily Collins (Okja). John Malkovich is also set to star as Judge Edward Cowart, who saw over the trial in 1979 and eventually sentenced Bundy to death.
The film is now officially in production and as I mentioned above, Efron revealed the first look image to celebrate the occasion. You can also check out the first look at Lily Collins in the film below. What do you think of this biopic? Are you a fan of Efron in the role? Do you remember the Bundy? Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil, and Vile is being directed by Joe Berlinger and currently has no set release date.
