‘Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom’ Teaser Announces First Trailer Arriving Thursday!

Universal has unveiled the first official look at their upcoming monster sequel Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom. The teaser debuted on Sunday Night Football, where star Chris Pratt was in attendance for his beloved Seattle Seahawks. Last week brought the news that a trailer could be arriving very soon, and as the footage reveals, the first official trailer will be released this Thursday during Thursday Night Football.

This footage is quite explosive. It’s quick, and to the point, but shows a lot more than it probably intended to. Although Colin Trevorrow didn’t return to direct the sequel, he was well involved with the writing and set-up process while A Monster Calls helmer J.A. Bayona took over directing duties. The footage we see reveals that Pratt’s Owen and Bryce Dallas Howard’s Claire do in fact return to Isla Nublar at some point in the film, where Dinosaurs are once again reigning supreme over the land. But that’s not all, we’re also getting what looks like a massive Volcanic eruption in the background, which could be a very strong element added to the already insane herd of dino’s running towards the screen.

One thing that instantly caught my eye about this 20 plus second reel is the look of it. While I enjoyed the living hell out of the first film, this isn’t the colorful action film Trevorrow put on screen. Director J.A. Bayona has a very distinct tone when it comes to his films, one that fits extremely well with the Jurassic franchise. That reason alone adds to the excitement I already had following my feelings for the first Jurassic World. As you can tell, I’ll be patiently waiting around my TV for the trailer drop Thursday night. Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom stomps into theaters on June 22nd, 2018.
