It’s finally here everyone. After over a decade of begging and pleading, Disney and Pixar finally pushed forward with a sequel to The Incredibles, and we now have our first look. This past summer at D23 was full of special surprised for those lucky fans in attendance, one of them being The Incredibles 2. If I remember correctly (please be sure to let me know in the comments), this is the trailer from that event, and it’s still just as good (or sounded in my case).
Why open this teaser trailer with Elastigirl, Dash, Frozone or any of the other fantastic characters when you can use the most adorable and powerful baby? Jack Jack is the focus of this trailer, as we see his powers in full force this time. Now whether or not he’ll be taking part in the superhero activities in the sequel remains to be seen, but it’s a very smart move to use him early on in the marketing because of how adorable everyone things he is, animated or not. Plus it’s just fun.
As for my excitement? It’s through the roof. I was only around 10 years old when the first movie came out, which means it’s something I watched over and over again for at least a year. The characters, the action, the Pixar fun. It’s easily one of Pixar’s best, possibly the best. And now that the studio has stepped away from their “no sequels” mandate, let’s just say this film is long, long overdue.
Check out the first trailer below and make sure to leave your thoughts in the comments. How did you like the first movie? Are you looking forward to the sequel? Directed by Brad Bird, The Incredibles 2 is slated for a June 15th, 2018 release date.
Everyone’s favorite family of superheroes is back in “Incredibles 2” – but this time Helen (voice of Holly Hunter) is in the spotlight, leaving Bob (voice of Craig T. Nelson) at home with Violet (voice of Sarah Vowell) and Dash (voice of Huck Milner) to navigate the day-to-day heroics of “normal” life. It’s a tough transistion for everyone, made tougher by the fact that the family is still unaware of baby Jack-Jack’s emerging superpowers. When a new villain hatches a brilliant and dangerous plot, the family and Frozone (voice of Samuel L. Jackson) must find a way to work together again—which is easier said than done, even when they’re all Incredible.
