‘Star Wars: The Last Jedi’ Featurette: Rian Johnson’s Inner Fanboy Comes Out

With each passing day we’re getting closer and closer to Star Wars: The Last Jedi. We’ve seen the trailers, we’ve seen the images, we don’t need to see anymore real footage. But in a bit of a surprise, a new behind-the-scenes look has been released, which is titled “story,” but focuses much more on the complete and utter joy director Rian Johnson had on set while working his dream job.

The footage is full of beautiful moments. It’s another great example as to why everyone who works on these films becomes family. Sure, we get some really cool new bts shots of the film being made, but the words that come from the cast about Johnson and his knack for filmmaking is what makes it so fantastic. And with the classical theme playing in the background, it’s just another reason of dozens as to why Star Wars is as impactful as it is.

If Disney and Lucasfilm stopped releasing trailers and TV spots and rather released a few of these featurettes, I’d be happy as all hell. Unfortunately I know that’s not going to happen, which means I’ll be staying away as much as I possibly can when it comes to a YouTube video that’s titled with Star Wars: The Last Jedi. So let’s hope the marketers behind the film don’t get a little touchy with the publish button, for now, check out the new featurette below. How excited are you for the film? Do you think it has a chance to be the best Star Wars film ever? Johnson’s Star Wars: The Last Jedi hits theaters on December 15th.
