‘Fantastic Beasts 2’ Casts Famous Harry Potter Character & 7 Others

With a little over a year till we get to see the sequel to 2016’s Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, Warner Bros has been making quite the large number of casting additions lately. Earlier in the year we learned that Jude Law will be playing Albus Dumbledore and Callum Turner will be playing Theseus Scamander, older brother of Eddie Redmayne’s Newt Scamander.

Now we have just learned of 8 new cast members to join the movie, with a couple ofMV5BYjgxZDdmYTItMmFhYi00ZTU4LWJkODUtZTM2YWY1ZDM1Y2UzXkEyXkFqcGdeQXVyMzkyOTI4OTU@._V1_SY1000_SX1000_AL_ those characters being names that Potter fans will have heard before. The first and largest casting announced was that actor Brontes Jodorowsky will be playing famous wizarding alchemist Nicholas Flamel. For those who do not remember, Nicholas Flamel was the creator and holder of the Sorcerer’s Stone from the first Harry Potter movie. The next two character names announced were Torquil Travers and Rosier, played by Derek Riddell and Poppy Corby-Tech. For those wondering why those names sound familiar, Torquil and Rosier were apart of the original Sacred Twenty-Eight pure-blood families and later members of their family became Death Eaters serving under Lord Voldemort. We could potentially see these two being ancestors of the Lord Voldemort Death Eaters, under Johnny Depp’s character the villainous Gellert Grindelwald.

Jessica WilliamsThe next name thrown out was that of The Daily Show correspondent Jessica Williams. Who she is playing has yet to be announced. Rounding out the remaining names were Fiona Glascott, whose character was unannounced, Wolf Roth who will be playing a character called “Spielman”. Victoria Yeates will be playing a character named “Bunty”. The last name announced was Cornell S. Johns, who will be playing a character named “Arnold Guzman”.

So what are you guys thoughts? Personally I am excited to finally see Nicholas Flamel come to life due in part that I felt in Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone, one of my biggest complaints was never meeting his character since the stone played such a big part in the movie. The unfinished titled Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find them sequel is scheduled for a November 16, 2018 release date.
