New ‘Star Wars: The Last Jedi’ Trailer Drops October 9th; See 12 New High-Res Images

Breathe. Just breathe. The news you’ve been looking for has finally arrived. After much speculation and a very cryptic tweet that was eventually deleted by Luke Skywalker himself, it has been officially announced that a brand new trailer for Rian Johnson’s Star Wars: The Last Jedi will drop in just a matter of weeks. Not only that, but we have some beautiful high-res looks at the sequel as well!

As I said, it’s been a hit topic over the last week or so, which all began from a Mark Hamill tweet. But now, thanks to the fantastic people over at Star Wars News Net, we can officially mark our calendars and timers on every electronic device we own, a new trailer for, without a doubt, this year’s most anticipated film will be arriving during the broadcast of Monday Night Football on October 9th.

The game itself holds no real significance, but the second trailer for Star Wars: The Force Awakens also premiered during MNF in early October, with that date also allowing fans everywhere to pre-order their tickets. Now why MNF and ESPN? Well that’s because the company that’s now beginning to take over the world, Disney, owns the world wide leader in sports. Not only is the NFL the highest rated sport on television, but Monday Night Football is as well, so why wouldn’t Lucasfilm want to continue to take advantage of that platform?

Aside from that, we also have anew batch of high-res images that have hit the web lately. You may recognize some or all of them, but with them being the clearest they could possibly be, it allows you to go full nerd and dissect them to full capacity. I know I will be. Johnson’s Star Wars: The Last Jedi will be hitting a theater in a galaxy near you on December 15th.
