With a new month now arriving, the excitement now turns towards the September slate, which includes the Matthew Vaughn’s highly anticipated sequel Kingsman: The Golden Circle. Its processor, Kingsman: The Secret Service, was one of the biggest surprises of 2014, as it smashed expectations both at the box-office and with word of mouth. With comic book movies and the James Bond franchise kicking along strong then, it was a fantastic combination of both, giving fans a new kind of comic book property to root for. Now the sequel looks to continue that.
Everything we’ve seen from The Golden Circle has plenty good to get everyone excited. Aside from some effects the first few times out, its most recent full-length trailer kicked ass, with many fans claiming that being the trailer that swayed. With the film now given a solid September release, it looks to not only be the bread winner of the month, but one of the most fun and action-packed movies of the year. Can it live up to the franchise’s former glory?
The film is now just a handful of weeks away and in anticipation for its release, 20th Century Fox has released the official character posters for the film. Each major player gets their own colorful and quite elegant one-sheet, including their codenames, with the Americans obviously taking up names of our society’s favorite alcoholic beverages. Too perfect? But what’s also cool about the posters is that each “locker” for the characters feature the aspects their best at, such as Jeff Bridges’ character and his rack of drinks and cigars or Colin Firth’s character taking up butterfly catching.
Check out the posters below and after doing so, let me know what you think of the poster and the film in the comments! Are you excited for the sequel? Do you like the cast additions? Were you not a fan of the original? Vaughn’s Kingsman: The Golden Circle will be released September 22nd.
