Daniel Craig Is Officially Returning for Bond 25

One of the world’s most looming questions has finally been answered! The wait is over folks, we now know whether or not Daniel Craig will be returning as James Bond. Drum roll please…

While on The Tonight Show with Stephen Colbert last night, the late night talk show host asked Craig point blank if he’d be returning as the character, and rather than giving some long excuse of an answer, he simply said: “Yes.” THANK GOODNESS THAT’S OVER.

While I’ve been no fan of the coy the actor has been playing, as well as the comments he made following his most recent turn as the character in Spectre, I am all kinds of excited to hear that he’s returning. He is the best Bond in my opinion, a perfect culmination of all the Bonds who came before him. And while it seemed for a while that the actor wanted nothing to do with the role anymore, he even admits that he just needed a break:

We’ve been discussing it, we’ve just been trying to figure things out. I always wanted to, I needed a break…I think this is it [the last time]. I just want to go out on a high note, and I can’t wait.

I can’t knock him for that, but did you really have to go as far as saying you’d rather slit your wrists than play the role again? Anyway, it should make for a very interesting story. For the longest time we’ve been debating who will be the next Bond, what age and what era it will take place in, but now we can put all that aside for at least a few more years as we’ll be continuing the story Craig started so many years ago. Is Christoph Waltz going return? Will a major villain from the past make an appearance? Let the conversations start rolling! Let’s just hope, as Craig put it, it truly is a high note to go out on.

What do you think? Are you glad Craig is returning for one last time? Were you looking forward to a new Bond? What do you hope to see? The untitled Bond 25 film is set to hit theaters on November 8th, 2019.
