Matt Damon Turns Violent in the First Trailer for George Clooney’s ‘Suburbicon’

Paramount Pictures has just released the first trailer for their upcoming all-star crime comedy Suburbicon. Directed by George Clooney and written by the Coen Brothers duo, Suburbicon stars Matt Damon as Gardner Lodge, a loving husband and father who must navigate the peaceful town’s underbelly that’s full of crime and very bad choices. It also stars Julianne Moore, Noah Jupe, and Oscar Isaac.

I’m fascinated by this trailer. I’ve never been one who loses my mind over a George Clooney film, but I’m loving what I’m seeing from this one. It not only looks wacky and weird enough to grab more than just my attention, but bloody, violent, and just a damn good time. It’s definitely an odd title to have Clooney attached to the director’s chair, but it’s quite fitting for the Coen Brothers. Clooney is known for the more serious vibe he brings to his films, so I’m pretty eager to see the kind of energy he brings to an oddball crime comedy from the hands of the Coen’s. Whether it’s critically successful or not, I already feel like it will offer plenty of fun, which is all I’m hope for.

Check out the first trailer below and after doing so, let me know what you think in the comments! Is it wacky enough for you? How about that bloody turn? Are you interested? Clooney’s Suburbicon is released on October 27th.

Suburbicon is a peaceful, idyllic suburban community with affordable homes and manicured lawns…the perfect place to raise a family, and in the summer of 1959, the Lodge family is doing just that. But the tranquil surface masks a disturbing reality, as husband and father Gardner Lodge (Matt Damon) must navigate the town’s dark underbelly of betrayal, deceit, and violence. This is a tale of very flawed people making very bad choices. This is Suburbicon.
