While we wait for confirmation on when production for DC’s biggest character solo-films (The Flash, The Batman, etc..) might begin, we have some kind of confirmation regarding Shazam. Several credible sources have claimed the next DCEU film to begin production will be the solo-film for Shazam. Directing the film will be David Sandberg (Lights Out), who took to his social media account to confirm his involvement.
This news comes just on the eve of Warner Bros’ highly anticipated Hall H panel that’ll focus on the future of the DCEU. What’s interesting is how many of the reports online have speculated the involvement of Dwayne Johnson, who’ll portray, Black Adam, the arch-nemesis of Shazam. The consensus of these reports suggest that Johnson will not be involved in Shazam, thus making it more likely he’ll make his first appearance in Man of Steel 2.
Much is unknown at this time, but at the very least we know these films are coming. Look for a plethora of announcements from Warner Bros. this Saturday, with plenty of reactions from Apocaflix! Movies via WordPress and Youtube.
