See Over 40 New ‘Transformers: The Last Knight’ Images; Watch 10+ Minutes of BTS Footage with New Video

Prior to its release late last night, Paramount revealed over 40 new images for Transformers: The Last Knight, displaying all kinds of robot carnage in Michael Bay’s fifth Transformers movie. The Last Knight will shatter the core myths of the franchise and redefine what it means to be a hero. Optimus Prime is gone, humans and Transformers are at war, and the key to saving the future lies buried in the past, hidden in the history of Transformers on Earth.

As I said earlier, the images show classic robot Bayhem, including camera angles, gigantic unnecessary explosions, exhausted cast members, and total metal clanking destruction. But one thing these images do show is the kind of enjoyment Bay gets from directing these movies. No matter how much we pull apart the direction he continues to take with these movies, there’s no doubt that he loves making them. I don’t see any other director sticking with a franchise for five movies, even if they were both a critic and box-office success. It’s just a bummer that Bay has focused more on style over the years rather than substance with this franchise. Just think about where we were 10 years ago after the first movie and the potential this franchise had. It’s unfortunate it didn’t turn out better. Hopefully the spinoffs, which won’t be directed by Bay, turn out to be something as awesome as it could be.

Along with the huge batch of images (what else would you expect?), a new b-roll video has been released to give fans and audiences a behind-the-scenes look at the making of The Last Knight. And again, no matter what you think of these movies, it’s still quite fascinating to see how these movies are made. They’re massive, far passed any other movie or franchise out there. And that’s exactly why they continue to put butts in the seats. Transformers: The Last Knight is now out in theaters.

The Last Knight shatters the core myths of the Transformers franchise, and redefines what it means to be a hero. Humans and Transformers are at war, Optimus Prime is gone. The key to saving our future lies buried in the secrets of the past, in the hidden history of Transformers on Earth. Saving our world falls upon the shoulders of an unlikely alliance: Cade Yeager (Mark Wahlberg); Bumblebee; an English Lord (Sir Anthony Hopkins); and an Oxford Professor (Laura Haddock).

There comes a moment in everyone’s life when we are called upon to make a difference. In Transformers: The Last Knight, the hunted will become heroes. Heroes will become villains. Only one world will survive: theirs, or ours.
