20 New ‘Transformers: The Last Knight’ Trailers Give You an Unnecessary Overload of Robot Mayhem

Ever wanted to watch 20 different Transformers trailers at once? Well here’s your chance. Over the last week, yes the last week, we’ve seen a flurry of new trailers for Michael Bay’s The Last Knight hit the web. Now I haven’t watched them all, but I imagine that they all don’t feature new footage otherwise the entire damn movie would be on YouTube now. Either way, if you’re looking for some robot mayhem, well then the videos that follow are definitely for you.

I’m not too sure about this one. For the first time in the era of Michael Bay Transformers movies, I haven’t liked the trailers. Usually we all become fascinated with what kind of craziness Bay has come with, and then we end up disappointed as ever with the final product. Could not liking the trailers actually mean I may enjoy this entry? I’m not betting on it, but I wouldn’t be surprised if that’s really the case.

On the flip side of things, what the hell are they thinking releasing this many videos with the word trailer in their title? I get wanting to push a movie, but are they that desperate? Are projection numbers that bad? If that’s true, then just make better movies. Don’t overload us with ridiculous story points that turn the entire franchise upside down, or characters that seem to have no place being in the middle of gigantic war between alien robots. Just make a good movie.

Anyway, with all that said, I’ll still be in the theater come that weekend. Why? Because I know what to expect. I’m not expecting a good story or fantastic performances. I’m expecting insane amounts of action and explosions, and quite frankly, that’s all I’ve came to care about with these movies. I want to see Optimus Prime lead the Autobots against an impossible force. I want to see Bumblebee kick some Decepticons’ assess in more ways than just one. A decade ago I was pumped for what these movies could be, and unfortunately, I’ve now comes to terms with what kind of franchise it is. Transformers: The Last Knight hits theaters on June 23rd, 2017.
