New ‘Transformers: The Last Knight’ Trailer Makes Us Rethink Our Heroes

Paramount Pictures has revealed yet another new trailer for Michael Bay’s (supposed) final installment in the Transformers franchise. Titled, The Last Knight, the fifth movie in the billion dollar series will shatter the core myths of the franchise and redefine what it means to be a hero. Optimus Prime is gone, humans and Transformers are at war, and the key to saving the future lies buried in the past, hidden in the history of Transformers on Earth.

To this point, I’ve been so-so on the footage we’ve seen for The Last Knight, which is definitely the first time I’ve ever said that when it comes to Transformers marketing. Usually, the trailers are some of the best of that year, but the end result is always somewhat of a disappointment. This time, could it possibly be the opposite? Okay probably not, but one can hope right?

Anyway, in true Transformers fashion, another new trailer was released and per usual, a ton of new footage comes with it. So while we may have all just seen the entire plot play out in front of our eyes, I must say, this is the trailer they should’ve kicked things off with. If I saw this exact trailer as the first ever footage for The Last Knight, I would be all-in on this movie. I thought it was awesome, on all kinds of levels. And again, it featured way too much new footage, but do we really care? We all know what to expect from these movies, so is it such a big deal? I’ll be going into this movie knowing exactly what to expect, and hopefully it can deliver on that note.

Take a look at the new trailer below and after doing so, let me know your thoughts in the comments. Are you in on the fifthquel? What about this new trailer? What do you expect? Michael Bay’s Transformers: The Last Knight hits theaters on June 23rd, 2017 and stars Mark Wahlberg, Anthony Hopkins, Laura Haddock, John Goodman, Isabela Moner, Stanley Tucci, Josh Duhamel, Ken Watanabe, and John Turturro.

The Last Knight shatters the core myths of the Transformers franchise, and redefines what it means to be a hero. Humans and Transformers are at war, Optimus Prime is gone. The key to saving our future lies buried in the secrets of the past, in the hidden history of Transformers on Earth. Saving our world falls upon the shoulders of an unlikely alliance: Cade Yeager (Mark Wahlberg); Bumblebee; an English Lord (Sir Anthony Hopkins); and an Oxford Professor (Laura Haddock).
