6 New ‘CHiPs’ Clips Probably Show the Entire Movie

You’ve seen the trailers, now check out a batch of new clips for the upcoming comedy CHiPs. While 2017 has seen a comedy here and a comedy there, none have been worthy of even paying for a seat to watch. It’s by far the hardest genre to pull off, not because it just has to be funny, but because it has to keep it up for 90+ minutes. And through a few trailers thus, CHiPs doesn’t even look like it can hold up for 2+ minutes.

I was actually looking forward to a remake of the classic TV show, but the second I heard it was going to be turned into another straight up comedy, my excitement became worry. And after a trailer or two, my worries became a reality. I wasn’t around when the TV show was airing, but I’ve seen a handful of episodes through re-runs and, and to remake this property and a sex and poop joke style of movie, it’s pretty ridiculous. There’s a way this movie would’ve worked as a comedy, and in no way is this the way to do it.

Anyway, ahead of its release a whole bunch of new clips have been released, extending scenes we’ve only seen teased through trailers so far. If there’s anything to take away from these clips, it’s that Kristen Bell will be the best part of it. Dax Shepard’s CHiPs rides into theaters on March 24th, 2017 and also stars Vincent D’Onofrio, Kristen Bell, Adam Brody, Ryan Hansen, and Maya Rudolph.

Jon Baker (Shepard) and Frank “Ponch” Poncherello (Peña) have just joined the California Highway Patrol (CHP) in Los Angeles but for very different reasons. Baker is a beaten up pro motorbiker trying to put his life and marriage back together. Poncherello is a cocky undercover Federal agent investigating a multi-million dollar heist that may be an inside job—inside the CHP.

The inexperienced rookie and hardened pro are teamed together, but clash more than click, so kickstarting a partnership is easier said than done. But with Baker’s bike skills combined with Ponch’s street savvy it might just work…if they don’t drive each other crazy along the
